ArfaPOS

Fast food POS software in Pakistan

Burger, broast and shawarma outlets live on speed and deals. ArfaPOS bills a combo in seconds, sends it to the kitchen screen, shows waiting customers when their order is ready, and counts every bun, fillet and box of fries against the recipe.

The problem

What makes this trade hard to run.

Two rushes a day, both brutal

Lunch from 1 pm and the late evening from 9 pm to midnight. Ten orders arrive in five minutes and the grill line falls behind.

A crowd at the counter shouting order numbers

Takeaway customers stand at the counter asking if their order is ready. Staff shout numbers over the noise, and orders get handed to the wrong person.

Fillets and buns don't match sales

The outlet marinates 150 fillets and sells 130 zingers and broasts. Where did the other 20 go? Without recipes, nobody can say.

Delivery adds another queue

Phone, WhatsApp and online orders come in during the rush, riders go out with cash, and nobody knows which order is where.

How ArfaPOS handles it

Built around the way you work.

Deals as menu items

Set up each deal with its own price and contents, plus variants and add-ons such as extra cheese or a large drink. The cashier taps Deal 2 once, and the right items go to the kitchen.

Kitchen display with order timers

From Growth, every order appears on the kitchen screen with a live order-age timer, so the grill, fryer and assembly staff work from the same list and see which order has waited longest.

Order status board

A TV in the waiting area shows orders as Preparing or Ready, with a chime when the kitchen marks one ready. Customers watch for their number instead of crowding the counter.

Customer display with QR payment

A screen facing the customer shows each item and the total, with a JazzCash or EasyPaisa QR to pay. The customer checks the order before paying, and deals play when the counter is idle.

Recipes down to the bun

A zinger burger recipe lists the fillet, bun, sauce and packaging. Each sale deducts them, so you can compare fillets used with fillets prepared.

Riders, website, app and WhatsApp orders

Riders use the Rider App to see assigned orders and update status. On Business, customers order from your own website and Android app with no commission, and the WhatsApp order bot takes orders on chat.

A working day

From opening to closing.

  1. Morning: marination and prep

Chicken is cleaned, marinated and breaded. Buns, fries and drinks are stocked from the store.

  2. Lunch rush

Office workers and students order deals. Orders go from the counter to the kitchen screen, and numbers appear on the status board.

  3. Afternoon: restock

A low-stock alert shows buns running short. The manager records an oil and bun purchase and pays a supplier.

  4. Evening and late-night rush

Families, app orders and the midnight deal. Riders take assigned deliveries while the board shows takeaway orders as they become ready.

  5. Close: fillet, rider and cash count

The manager counts leftover fillets against what recipes say should be left, settles each rider's cash, and closes the till against the day report.

Speed is the product

A burger joint in Karachi or Peshawar can do 70% of its day in four hours. In that window, a slow billing screen or a lost order slip costs more than any ingredient price change. ArfaPOS keeps the cashier's job short: pick the deal, pick the order type, take payment. The order is on the kitchen display before the receipt finishes printing, and if the internet drops, billing carries on offline and syncs later.

When the cook marks an order ready, the order status board in the waiting area moves it from Preparing to Ready and plays a chime. The counter stays calm, and the cashier keeps billing instead of answering the same question twenty times.

Worked example: is Deal 1 making money?

Deal 1 is a zinger burger, regular fries and a 345 ml drink for Rs 890. Bought separately, these are Rs 590, Rs 250 and Rs 120, which is Rs 960, so the customer saves Rs 70. Here is what the deal costs to make:

ItemCost (Rs)
Zinger fillet, bun, sauce, lettuce260
Regular fries70
345 ml drink75
Bag, box and napkins25
Total430

The deal costs Rs 430 against a price of Rs 890, a food cost of 48.3%. That is fine if the deal brings extra customers. It is a problem if most of your sales move to the deal from full-price burgers. The products report shows you which way it is going, and the peak hours report shows when the deal sells.

Counting fillets, not guessing

Suppose the kitchen prepares 150 fillets in the morning. At night the system shows 112 zinger burgers and 18 broast pieces sold that use one fillet each, so 130 fillets should be gone and 20 should be left. If only 8 are left, 12 fillets went missing. At Rs 180 a fillet, that is Rs 2,160 for one day. Once staff know the count is checked every night, the number tends to drop. Read more on restaurant inventory.

Delivery and your own ordering channels

Phone orders go in as delivery with the customer's details and are assigned to a rider. The rider sees the address on his phone, marks the order picked up, on the way and delivered, and the counter can see where each delivery is. On the Business plan, customers can also order from your own branded website and Android app, with live order tracking and no commission. See delivery management and the restaurant ordering app for details. ArfaPOS does not connect to foodpanda, so enter those orders as delivery orders to keep stock and sales complete.

Closing the drawer after midnight

Late-night outlets often close at 2 am with a tired cashier and a manager who wants to go home. The day report lists sales by order type and payment method, and the expenses paid from the drawer during the shift, such as Rs 3,500 for cooking oil or Rs 800 for a rider's fuel. Each rider's cash collected is listed per order, so settling riders takes minutes. Say rider Asif carried 14 cash orders worth Rs 21,700 and handed in Rs 21,200: he is Rs 500 short, and the order list shows which ones to check. Our guide on end-of-day cash reconciliation walks through the steps.

Bringing students back

Fast food depends on repeat customers who live or study nearby. Loyalty points on Growth and Business reward them on every channel, and WhatsApp bulk messages announce a new burger or a weekend deal. Starter at Rs 4,999 covers billing, deals, split payments, kitchen tickets and offline mode. Growth at Rs 9,999 adds the kitchen display, rider management, inventory and FBR. Business at Rs 14,999 adds your own website and app and the WhatsApp order bot.
