Trade in Sindh's second city

Shahi Bazaar runs through the old city and sells almost everything: cloth, shoes, utensils, cosmetics and household goods. Hyderabad is known across Pakistan for its glass bangles, made in workshops and sold through dealers and wholesale shops. Resham Gali is busy with cloth and wedding shopping, and traders here supply shopkeepers in smaller towns across interior Sindh.

Much of that trade is wholesale on credit, often to buyers who come in from other towns once a month. When the buyer returns, the seller needs the balance ready: what was taken last time, what was paid, what is left.

Which product fits which business

• Wholesalers and bangle dealers: Taajir keeps a ledger for every buyer, records each sale and payment, and sends the statement on WhatsApp before the buyer arrives. Stock is tracked item by item.
• Cloth and garment shops: billing, stock and supplier payments, with user permissions so staff cannot change prices or delete bills.
• Pharmacies and general stores: Taajir Standard at Rs 4,000 a month, or Rs 36,000 a year, with an FBR-style GST report if you are registered. More on pharmacies.
• Bakeries and restaurants: ArfaPOS handles counter and table billing on every plan. On Growth and Business it sends orders to a kitchen screen and links recipes to stock, so rabri, biscuits and cakes deduct their ingredients as they sell.

A bangle dealer is a good example. He may stock hundreds of designs and colours, sell by the dozen to shopkeepers from Nawabshah or Mirpurkhas, and receive payment in parts. With each design as an item and each shopkeeper as a party, the stock report and the ledger answer the two questions he is asked most: is it in stock, and how much do I owe you.

Remote setup and support
